After coming back from fishing, Lorccan spent a late night cooking up his catch with the elves. They can be quite fun the little bat eared creatures. As it was a weekend they didn't seem worried about sending him back to his dorm before curfew. Then again with the dance, it went later than typical curfew anyway.
By the time morning came, Lorccan discovered he ended up falling asleep in Wight Town. The elves served him a good breakfast and he then made his way back to the school. He was about half way to the building when he remembered he was suppose to clean up the cafeteria or something like that. Or was that just Glassman being threatening? Well he obviously missed that detention. It definitely made him far less eager to return to his dorm. Then again, he doubted the Potion Master would be waiting for him there. Lorccan shrugged. What was the worse old four eyes could do anyway? Kick him out of the school? That would be bad...Lorccan wouldn't survive facing his father after that. He sighs. Well wouldn't be that bad, he would just do the detention some other time.
For now, what should he do to amusing himself till he was dragged before evil Potions Master?
Looking around Lorccan decided he might as well just enjoy the day. It does look like it will be a nice one.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"There he is, Mr. Llewellyn. He has been here all night, safe and sound."
The sound of Mayor Elrond's voice filled the air, and as Lorccan looked in their direction, he would see Llewellyn walking in his direction, his face set into a dark, angry expression. This wasn't the demeanor of a man who was looking for an idle truant, this was the expression of a man about to strangle the life out of someone. The elf, conversely, looked like he was about to shit out a peach pit.
"Lorccan O'Brien!" He growled, closing the distance between them and grabbing the boy by the shoulder, giving him a good shake for good measure. "You're coming with me, now, to the principal's office. March!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having the DADA teacher bearing down on him looking like that was too much like seeing his father coming for him. It was probably the only thing that kept Lorccan from turning and running for his life. As it was he struggled against Llewellyn when the man finally reached him and started shaking him.
"I didn't do anything!" Lorccan squeaked in a half panic but did do what he was told and marched towards the school.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Don't play the idiot." Llewellyn growled. His mood hadn't improved any in the moments since discovering that Lorccan was safe. "Your sister was kidnapped from the dance last night. We thought you'd been kidnapped, too." He was livid, and had to hold back the comment that tried to form on his lips -- That it made sense Lorccan hadn't been kidnapped. Nobody would want the little troublemaker.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"WHAT?" All fear of being beaten like his father would do when he did something really bad vanished to be replaced with the far greater fear and worry for his sister. "How the hell can my sister be kidnapped in the middle of a fucking dance? What the horsefeathers where you all doing, jerking off?"
With that he jerked away as hard as he could from the teacher so he could turn and ran for the school, horsefeathers the principal, he had to find his sister.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He got perhaps five yards before he found himself floating back to Llewellyn. "She's been found. She wasn't hurt, other than being fed a truth potion. As for what we were doing, someone used some Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder and grabbed her in the middle of a dance. Everyone thought it was a prank because the night was so rich with pranksters." Like, say, Lorccan himself.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He ran in spot even as he floated in the opposite direction before Lorccan realized he was enspelled. Lorccan was about to let lose another series of profanities at the Defense Professor when what he said reached his ears. Siobhan was found, she was safe.
"Where is she? I need to talk to her, she's my sister. Please Professor, let me see her first. I need to know she's alright myself." He pleaded. Lorccan couldn't care less what happened to him, as long as he was able to see for himself Siobhan was alright.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Llewellyn grit his teeth, wanting to hit the kid. He'd gone to D.C. to have the trace on Siobhan pinpointed, which led him to an abandoned house in Flint, Michigan, and when he returned to the Institute, it was revealed that the Lighthouse had returned Siobhan, but the girl's account of what had happened to her led them to believe Lorccan had been kidnapped, as well. Then Ted had had to go back to D.C. to have them look for the trace on him. And he'd been here, on the island, living it up. "She's in the principal's office." He said through clenched teeth.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Why didn't you just say that in the first place." Lorccan felt the teacher was a real prick. He could have said upfront his sister was safe and at the Principal's office then that she had been kidnapped. But nooo, instead Professor Lilyhead had to tell him his sister was gone first then pussyfoot about revealing she was safe. He glared at the professor. If it wasn't for the fact he was floating under control of a spell he probably kick the bastard in the groin then run to be with his sister.
"Will you put me down so I can go to her?" He asks in about as calm a voice as he can manage without being disrespectful.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ted paused and wondered, for a teensy-tiny moment, if it would be worth it to try and explain things to this little nitwit, to tell him just how worried everyone had been about him while he was here in the Elf village, having himself a mini-vacation. "Because your parents are here with her, and your father is furious with pretty much everyone but your sister. I used to go to school with Tighe, I know his temper. I know that it's just going to take one wrong word, one toe out of line, one look, and he's going to explode. So I told him I would handle your punishment personally. Do you understand what I'm saying here, Lorccan?" He asked. "You need to be careful. You need to do two things when we walk into the principal's office -- Show concern for your sister, and apologize for disappearing without showing him the slightest bit of rebellion or impudence. Your father will still want to hit someone, and so he and I will be leaving shortly after he sees you're alright. Do you think you can manage this? Do you think you can do this for Siobhan's sake?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hearing his father was there definitely killed much of Lorccans anxiety about wanting to get to the Principal's office. yet how can it possibly be his father he wasn't around when Siobhan was kidnapped? He wasn't forbidden to go to Wight Village and its not like he didn't do it often enough in the past. He sighs. Looks like either way he was going to end up blamed for not being there when something he had no idea would ever happen here, happened.
"I don't have to fake showing concern for my sister, Professor." He says dejectedly. "I also know how to avoid my father's temper. I haven't done anything wrong...its not like I planned for my sister to get kidnapped. But I will not cause my father to get angrier. I just want to see my sister."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You were out of your room past Curfew, Lorccan. That's hardly 'not doing anything wrong.' That alone is enough of a breach of the rules to merit several hours of detention. Or worse with repeated offenses. Like Restriction or Suspension. Possibly Expulsion. It's fortunate that the state of Massachusetts doesn't allow corporal punishment, not even for its sole magical school." He said wanly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I fell asleep..." He says lamely then sighs. "Yes Professor."
Whats the point of arguing? It was just delaying getting to his sister and Professor Llewellyn will punish him anyway or worse, tell his father he broke more rules barely a week into term. As for corporal punishment, that was common in his household, state law or not.
"Father must not have read that law...." He muttered.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Feel glad." Llewellyn said grumpily. "Nobody's getting in trouble today. Everyone gets a free pass for last night. You, the stooges, the people who got caught canoodling, you're all getting off light. Sure, they'll be doing bed checks on you to make sure you're not out after curfew any more, but that's not punishment. Not when you take into account what some of us wanted to do to you." Howard had had quite a few juicy suggestions, and Ted's own offerings were no nicer, but Liliana thought it was better off to not traumatize the students any more than they already had been.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lorccan didn't feel glad. He rather be punished than to have his sister kidnapped and who knows what done to her...even if she was safely returned, what did they do to her? Will they try again?
There was also the simple fact if his father wanted to take a swing, it won't matter if the Principal decided not to punish anybody.
"Why would anybody want to kidnap my sister?" Lorccan asked. That didn't make any sense. "Was she hurt? Who took her? Did you catch the fucking bastards who dared lay hands on my sister?"
He doubted the Professor had answers...but he had to keep talking, the silence was making him think horrible things that had been or could have been done to his sister. "Why are we just walking, I could have ran there by now?"
By the time morning came, Lorccan discovered he ended up falling asleep in Wight Town. The elves served him a good breakfast and he then made his way back to the school.
