Damon had been eploring the school. He had found the library after a while and he thought that his brother would have liked the place. "Todd you was always the one that would step foot into a library." He saidwith a heavy cajun accent as he had stepped into the library. Damon starts to look for a book on the laws to see if there was anything that could help his brother out. "Hmm, wonder what spells that the school considers restricted." He said with a heavy cajun accent to himself as he starts to search the library.
Elizabeta was searching the library to find a book titled 'Rodney's Dangerously Dasterly Dark Magic Defenses.' A silly title but one that would work quite well as a reference for her DADA assignment. Finding the title she took down the tome and added to the two other books, both from the Restricted area. She had to get those books directly from the librarian as no students could go into the Restricted section on their own. She had a note from Professor Llewellyn to allow her the two books, both on dark magic and both related to the essay she was to write.
She knew the information found in the books would be of use to her for reasons other than completing an essay. But dark magic wasn't the only way to power but it certainly never hurt to learn.
Now that she found the books she was looking for she moved down a different aisle and spotted one of the new additions to the school. A 7th year student who she knew next to nothing about. In fact she wasn't even sure on his name. It always paid to get to know more people, even if they turned out not to be of much benefit to her in the long run.
"Hello.....Damon I believe?" Elizabeta inquired, walking up towards him. "I noticed you are new to the school, thought I would say hi and introduce myself. I am Elizabeta."
"Oui." Damon said but not quite in the french way, as he turned around and he bowed slightly. "It is nice to meet you, Elizabeta." He said with a heavy cajun accent as he started to look again for a book on laws. "Um, I was wondering if I could get some help." He said with a heavy cajun accent and wondering if she could understand him due to what he has noticed his way of speaking.
Elizabeta found the student's accent rather...odd. It didn't sound like any accent she heard before, yet the first word he spoke, would imply French...but the accent definitely wasn't a French one. Giving a mental shrug, Elizabeta put aside figuring out the origin of the accent as it wasn't important to her. What was important was she could understand him enough to know what he was saying.
"I can give it a shot. I am not one of the library assistants but none seem to be around at this moment." Elizabeta agreed to help. "What can I do for you?"
"Thank you I am looking for a book on law." Damon said with a heavy cajun accent as he tried to look again even if it is a book on all the laws that had been passed he wouldn't mind. "This place is very confusing sometimes easy to get lost in." He said with a heavy cajun accent to Elizabeta and he looked up from his searching and he smiled at her. Damon is also figuring that she has a lot of questions as most people do about the new person.
"A book on magical law?" Elizabeta repeated, to make sure she understood correctly. "The law section is that row over there. You were heading in the right direction."
She really didn't see why he would find a library confusing, it was laid out in a very logical and organized way. The main catalog contained the locations of all the books in the library and each stack of shelves had their code clearly marked on the ends. But perhaps his reading skills were weak, given the accent.
"Doing some research on Magical law?" She asked, leaning against the bookshelf near the Law section once they walked over.
"Yes I am trying to see if there is any difference here than back home." He said with a heavy cajun accent as he starts to look at the law books. He finds a book on the laws passed in the government. "I hope that this can help in my research." Damon said with a heavy cajun accent. "What is the school like from the lower years to 7th year?" He asked with a heavy cajun accent.
"Where is back home?" Elizabeta asked, mildly curious. "What brings you all the way to Salem?"
"If you need any additional books on law, this is the section to find them." Elizabeta adds helpfully, thinking the library back where he came from couldn't be all that differently arranged, except maybe just the physical layout.
"Overall Salem is a good school, the teachers are very good at what they do, some are a little silly but I expect there are such in all schools. There are many options here, for clubs and extracurricular activities and plenty of dances. The Legacies are varied and well worth pledging to. I myself am in Novus Ordo Secolorum, or the Skulls as its more commonly referred to. I would have to say the most unusual feature of Salem is the Lighthouse. Its a magical and sentient structure that provides transportation to and from the island for those students who need it. Throckwattle House, an old Legacy, is one home to avoid. As far as I can tell its stuck in some sort of magical flux or dimensional phase as it keeps appearing and disappearing and anybody fool enough to enter it, never comes back with an intact mind. Its a place of nightmares and madness."
"Louisiana, and family wanted a change of pace." Damon said with a heavy cajun accent. "Hmm, sounds like some people had been experimenting there." He said with a heavy cajun accent and he started to read the table of content. "If you like you can sit down I see no reason for you to lean against the bookcase." He said with a heavy cajun accent as he looked up at Elizabeta. "May I ask where you are from?" He asked with a heavy cajun accent.
"One reason to change locations." Elizabeta replied. The way he said change of pace made her think the move wasn't all just for a change of scenery. Just a feeling really.
"The tale of how Thrackwattle came to being certainly is an interesting one. A spell gone horribly wrong cast by foolish wizards and witches who didn't have any idea about the forces they were messing with." Elizabeta gave an expression of contempt at their foolishness. She was always very careful when she experimented with magic. Even her attempts to find a way to use magic without a wand was done very carefully. Not that she had any success yet.
"As for me, I am from Northern Idaho. My family owns the Nicoli-Romani Balaur Loc Reţinut, a dragon reserve." Elizabeta says, not moving to take a seat. She didn't intend to stay long, preferring to do her reading in the comfort of her room but she didn't mind staying a bit longer to learn more about this new student. "Where did your family move to, since you left Louisiana for a change of pace?"
